You pay providers directly, at their rate
Data cost passes through untouched because it never reaches us. There is no credit currency in between, so there is no exchange rate to be quietly unfavourable.
The shape is the actual argument — a credit currency you buy from a reseller behaves very differently from paying your providers directly.
We have not set prices, and we are not going to invent them for a page. What we have decided is the shape, because the shape is the actual argument.

Our fee is for running the waterfall, the cache and the interface. That means the more successful you are, the less we cost per result — which is the opposite of how per-credit pricing behaves.
A cache hit costs you nothing from the provider. Under a resale model that saving belongs to the vendor; here it belongs to you.
If it stops being worth it, you stop. Anything that needs a contract to retain customers has a product problem it is trying to solve with paperwork.
Stated plainlyThe trade-off, stated plainly: this is more setup than a single subscription. You will have to open accounts with the providers you want and paste in their keys. For a small team running occasional lookups, an all-in-one product is genuinely simpler and probably cheaper. This is for teams whose data spend has grown large enough that the markup has become a real number.
We would rather you worked that out from a page than from three months of paying us. If an all-in-one subscription is cheaper for your volume, use one.
The product is not priced yet, but the studio work behind it is — including the data and enrichment engagements we already deliver by hand.
